The W Challenge was launched in 2018 on Women’s Equality Day. It is a collaboration led by the San Francisco Assessor Carmen Chu, San Francisco Department on the Status of Women and the League of Women Voters San Francisco with a simple goal of raising women’s voices and expanding women’s representation. Each year we design a new challenge to encourage women to act.
Women’s Equality Day was first established in 1973 to commemorate the 1920 19th Amendment to the Constitution, granting women the right to vote.
