Lisa Perez Jackson has a long, impressive career in environmental protection. Jackson began her career at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in 1987 as an engineer. In 2009, she was confirmed by the US Senate as the Administrator of the United States EPA, becoming the first African-American and fourth woman to hold the position. In this role, she focused on reducing greenhouse gases, protecting air and water quality, preventing exposure to toxic contamination, and expanding outreach to communities on environmental issues. Jackson is now the Vice President of Environmental, Policy, and Social Initiatives at Apple, where she has implemented innovative ideas and programs to reduce the impact of the massive tech company on the environment. Jackson serves on the boards of SF Film, Conservation International, and Emily’s List.
